A Message from Ms. B:
No Snow! Who would have thought that we would be so excited to say those words…in April. Bring on the May flowers. Of course, the temperatures dip down again next week but like confusing junior high students, the weather will continue to baffle us. We only have about one month left to do everything possible to make up for “lost” time with field trips, special events, and get togethers. Be sure to check the calendar every week as there seems to be continual updates and new events. We are pleased to have an award winning author, David Fitzsimmons, visit our primary grades. He might even bring some “critters” to share.
Our 8th graders’ calendar are especially packed with many traditions, new events, and final events. One thing we did this year that was new to Lourdes was 8th Grade Grandparent and Special Friend Day. It was a special opportunity for 8th graders to have their family member all to themselves. Discussions, laughter, and wide smiles filled the cafeteria. We played pop culture trivia from “then and now”. We certainly have some cool and savvy grandparents who know a lot about the times; they were teaching their kiddos.
This is an exciting time for students but it can also be a stressful time too. There are lots of changes to our daily schedules and routines in order to do everything we would like for our students. Please encourage your students to finish strong and as the best student they can be.
