It makes me happy to see the resilience and excitement in our Tigers’ faces! It poured on our First Day of School morning festivities. It not only poured but thundered and many tears were shed in fear. Scout doesn’t like storms either! Don’t forget that Monday is Picture Day and we do have retakes in the fall. I am super excited for this year and I know our 8th graders are going to be the best leaders. They have already helped me with Kindergarten Kick-off and thankfully, Drew “brought the energy” we needed for some of our shy Tiger cubs! Next week is our first full week and by Wednesday our students should be back in “school mode”. Regular bedtimes and healthy meals are a good way to keep our students ready to learn. Even though your student might want to stay home, you should get them here on time to learn. I am super excited for this year! It’s going to be another great year to be a TIGER! Peace, Ms. B
It’s such a beautiful day today and I am soaking in the quiet solitude before the controlled chaos begins Thursday. I guess it’s time to get into the swing of things because the alarm will be deafening on Monday morning! Teachers start Monday with professional development and we are learning a lot of things that will help your students in their academic growth and progress as well as their health and safety.
I hope that everyone is having a great summer! We have now reached the midpoint of summer. 4th of July is always a bit bittersweet for those of us in education. It usually means the summer is almost over…or is it age that makes us feel this way? You will start to receive the weekly Paw Prints chock full of information regarding the upcoming year and the end of the summer…such as the OLL SUMMER FESTIVAL!
Supporting students and their formation through Catholic Education, is a great way to share our blessings and faith with younger generations. The CEF-SGO may now allow for Catholic Education supporters to be able to receive a tax credit for their generosity. Learn more here.
This time of year is always bittersweet. If you have worked with 8th graders or seniors, Graduation is exciting! Students, teachers, and parents are turning the page. We finished one chapter and will be starting another. In the fall, we will be having a very different conversation with the Kindergarten and Freshman parents! It’s all about the “circle of life”, right? Endings and New beginnings. I like to think of it as evolving as a person, as growth and learning.
Thank you to all who prayed ardently that the rain would wait until after Field Day! We were blessed with beautiful weather and lots of smiling faces. During Covid, we developed the idea that the 8th graders would sponsor Field Day, organize it, develop the games and roles, and run the games, as a way to give the 8th graders something to help them “forget about Covid” for awhile. Never did I think it would be as rewarding and awesome as it has turned out to be.
According to the History Channel: “Celebrations of mothers and motherhood can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals in honor of the mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele, but the clearest modern precedent for Mother’s Day is the early Christian festival known as “Mothering Sunday.”
